Colours of Orthodoxy. Cyprus

The contest was organized to present the diversity and beauty of Orthodoxy in Cyprus. Through this contest, which will culminate with an album and an exhibition, we would like to present for wider audience Christian life in Cyprus.

Announcement of the results of the International Competition "Colors of Orthodoxy. Cyprus"

On September 25th, 2018 the jury meeting of the contest ”Colours of Orthodoxy. Cyprus” took place at the premises of the Cyprus Photographic Society in Nicosia.

1021 photos were received from 85 participants from 8 countries. Jury members were very satisfied with quality of the contest photos. After 6 hours of intensive discussion jury selected around 20 acceptances (shortlisted) in each category, in second round the jury narrowed the selection to the winners and honorable mentions.

Based on this selection jury selected two possible Grand Prix winners and final decision was based on quality of all photographs which were send for the competition by both authors. The final decison was to grant Grand Prix to Mr Polis Poliviou (Cyprus, Latsia).

The following prizes are available in this competition:

Grand Prix: 600 EURO
1st prize in each category: 300 EURO
2st prize in each category: 200 EURO
3rd prize in each category: 100 EURO
Honorable Mention: photo album from one of our or partners publications
(the number of the honorable mentions will be decided from the jury)

All financial prizes will be given as checks issued by Cyprus Tourism Organization at award ceremony or delivered to winners to provided address.
Winners will be responsible for reporting any winnings to authorities as required by law and paying any taxes they may owe on any prize received.

How to participate

Entering the competition is free of charge.
Entries must be received before 10th of September 2018.
Participants may submit maximum 6 photos in each category.
Photos must be uploaded to orthphoto.net site.
Photos need to be sent together with title and author details (name, address and telephone number) to this address competition@orthphoto.net.
The quality and size of the photograph should be: no smaller than 2000 pixels in either width, or height (It’s best to send the original file) the maximum size of the photo file is 18MB.

All photographs must be photographer's own work, and he must legally hold the copyright to them
